Fabian Cooke

Born in Kingston Jamaica. This Grammy Award winner is best known as an accomplished songwriter, producer, and audio engineer. By age 12, he was performing and recording with established reggae artistes. In his early teens, he attended the prestigious Jamaica School of Music on a full scholarship, he also became the youngest in-house/staff drummer for “Studio One,” birthplace of Ska and Reggae music.
Fabian relocated to New York City in 1980 where he quickly became a critical part of the reggae scene, establishing himself as an acclaimed drummer, bassist and producer at a very young age.

He then moved to Los Angeles in 1987, where he collaborated with the industry’s best helping to shape the landscape of Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop music. The diversity of Fabian’s career can be witnessed in the variety of production, recording and publishing companies he has been associated with.

Some include projects and artistes like Ziggy Marley (Grammy-winning albums Family Time and Live), Eddie Murphy, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne (MTV Unplugged), Keri Hilson (MTV Unplugged), Ciara, Mindless Behavior, OMG Girls, Faith Evans, Teena Marie, Mark “Marky Mark” Wahlberg, Tone Loc, Gerardo (“Rico Suave”), Ini Kamoze, K-Pop USA production team (Big Bang, Teayang, 2NE1, YG Family). Reggae artistes like Bob Marley and the Wailers (Soul Almighty and B is for Bob), Third World, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff, Born Jamericans, Bunny Wailer, Wailing Souls, Big Mountain, Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, and Tony Rebel to name a few.

Companies that have used his services include Walt Disney, Sony Music, MCA, RCA, Epic, Island Records, Columbia, Interscope, CBE (Chris Brown’s label), Blackground, East-West Records, Delicious Vinyl and The Jackson Family. As a staff engineer for studios like Paramount Recording and Echo Sounds, he worked with artistes like Tha Dogg Pound, Montell Jordan, and Tha Alkaholiks amongst others.

Fabian’s continuing contribution to Feature Film and TV music is also numerous and significant. His credits includes the single Hakuna Matata from The Lion King (Rhythm Of The Pride Lands), Romy’s and Michelle’s High School Reunion, Titan A.E., Bound by Honor, Harlem Aria and Fear. His TV credits include Composer and Musical Director for television shows/sitcoms Love That Girl (TV One), Family Time, and My Crazy Roommate (Bounce TV). Fabian is also a filmmaker, writer, director and producer of short films, music videos and other forms of visual art.

Fabian enjoys working at the helm of technology innovating sounds for artistes of various genres. Known for his unique and diverse styles and signature sound, he has participated in and continues to be a dynamic contributor to the music industry. His various talents have allowed him to play a significant role in the creation and production of much influential modern music.
